551 Main Street, Pacolet, SC 29372

The big shade tree out front sets the tone here. By afternoon it covers most of the front yard and the covered porch, and that porch is where you’ll end up with a chair and a glass of tea. This 2 bed, 1 bath bungalow sits on 1 acre in Pacolet, and most of that acre is open ground out back. The back of the lot is cleared grass that runs out to a tree line, so you have room for just about everything you need. Inside, the layout is simple. The living room runs across the front of the house, and a wide three-panel window looks right out at that tree. Both bedrooms have closets, and the corner bedroom gets light from two sides. The bathroom has a walk-in tiled shower and a pedestal sink. The kitchen is the room you’ll remember. It has a vaulted ceiling with an exposed beam, white cabinets on three walls, under-cabinet lighting and wood-look flooring. A beadboard peninsula gives you a spot to pull up a stool while dinner’s going. Off the kitchen, a laundry room with its own window opens onto a wooden ramp down to the back yard. The house is ready for someone to make it their own. Fresh paint and a few updates would go a long way, and the setting and the land are already here.
